About the Artist
Shelia Marie Lakeshore
My name is Shelia Marie Lakeshore and I am a self-taught artist as well as a wife to my loving husband, and mother to two grown daughters. I was raised in Inglewood, CA and now live in Seattle, WA.
Painting, drawing, and creating my art is a passion, and I am grateful to have been able to share it with a few great individuals and companies. Selling a few original paintings overseas and donating artwork to non-profit organizations fills me with joy.
Inspiration comes in many forms. I believe we make the world a better place when we work together, and music is a medium for human connection, for sharing moments and memories. Music is energy which can help inspire unity and harmony, and through it we can overcome life obstacles and generate hope. Illustrating these facets of human experience is my passion. Portraits and still life reflect the light of the human spirit, and flowers are representative of the beauty in humanity.
Through my pieces, I hope to evoke feeling, movement, critical thought, and joy. My inspiration is drawn from jazz music, string and brass instruments and communities that personify life. I wish to open the eyes of the world to the beauty and reality I see every day, and it is my hope they move and inspire in their own unique way.
